Fathers and Daughters! Also Fathers and Sons, but mainly Fathers and daughters!

Fathers and Daughters   The most special and easy yet the most complicated relationship is the one of fathers and daughters and well ok of fathers and sons too! A father is the first man in a child's life and sets up a precedent  in his/her life for the role of a guide, partner, and a father. Its a difficult write up for me, for most of my adult life I have missed his presence in physical form, none the less my childhood stories and my father's anecdotes often come up in my conversations more often than necessary. The first gift I remember giving my father was a flower.  Not a bouquet. Just a single flower plucked from the garden...

Why Handmade Matters: Choosing Sustainable Home Décor This World Environment Day

Why Handmade Matters: Choosing Sustainable Home Décor This World Environment Day    There is wisdom in nature.  Not the kind that arrives loudly, demanding attention, but the kind that lingers quietly in the curve of a reed bending with the wind, in a willow branch that yields without breaking, in grasses that return season after season, carrying stories of water, earth and time.  Long before sustainability became a conversation, nature had already perfected the art of living gently.  World Environment Day  This World Environment Day 2026, as the world reflects on climate change and the signals our planet continues to send, perhaps there is value in listening more closely to the lessons that have always surrounded us.  For some, climate action begins...

Mother's day Special- Mothers- A Forever Inimitable Safe Space

Mothers A Forever Inimitable Safe Space   I read somewhere recently something about how no matter how much money you have, or how established or successful you are, there's one feeling in the world that one just cannot recreate! ~The feeling of a 4 or 5 something old kid being safe, guarded, happy and unbothered by the worldly affairs. That feeling of safety and joy is inimitable. The only time we come as close to this feeling as possible is when we become parents and we become that feeling for our kids. That's how Nostalgia works too, we long for the decades gone by, the fashion, the food, the culture, the music, even the cities how they were in our growing years. Its...

Little Worlds at Home: Prepping Kids’ Spaces for Summer Vacations

Little Worlds at Home: Prepping Kids’ Spaces for Summer Vacations    "There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again." ~ Elizabeth Lawrence  With the beginning of summer holidays, the home changes. Mornings lose their rush; afternoons stretch a little longer, and every room carries a softer, more playful energy, one that belongs to children.  Somewhere within this shift, a mother begins to prepare a space for her kids through small, thoughtful gestures. A corner is cleared. Light is allowed to fall a little more freely. A few things are moved, a few added. The intention is simple, to create little worlds within the home where her children can spend...

Rooted in Earth: The Beauty of Living with Natural Materials

Rooted in Earth: The Beauty of Living with Natural Materials        There is a quiet shift happening in the way we think about our homes. Beyond aesthetics and trends, there is a growing desire to feel more connected to spaces that don’t just look beautiful, but feel grounded, lived-in, and real. In this return, natural materials home decor finds its place, not as a style choice, but as a way of living.      To live with natural materials is to invite the earth indoors in its most honest form. The weave of water hyacinth, the strength of English willow, the lightness of salt reed, the softness of kauna grass, each carrying the imprint of where it comes from. These are not manufactured finishes, but materials shaped by Mother Earth, seasons,...
